Topic: Knee Pain in Primary Care: Patient Expectations and When to Refer

Knee pain is common throughout all age groups. 

We would like to invite you to an interactive session led by Colin Dury, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.

 The aim of the session will be to enhance confidence in clinical diagnosis of the underlying condition and apply a realistic approach to managing symptoms.  The benefit of relevant investigations will be discussed in detail as well as evidence-based guidelines on when to refer for specialist management. 

 Topics to be covered will include:

• Acute soft tissue knee injuries (ligament/ meniscus/ cartilage)
• Degenerate soft tissue injuries (tendon/meniscus/cartilage)
• Osteoarthritis Mild to Severe
• Non-surgical management of knee pain: when physiotherapy out performs surgery
• The degenerate, torn, extruded meniscus- will surgery help?
• Update on common orthopaedic procedures- will the robots take over?

 This event is CPD certified and will count towards your continued professional development.
